About Otter Rock

Hello! It's nice to have you here.

My name is Sarah Moore. I'm a creative, who has been working either full-time or freelance in the creative industries of music, marketing, graphic design, photography and weddings for the past five years. Settle in for my story, it's got plenty of twists and turns.

My whole life, I've been creating. I've always had the urge. Some avenues were certainly more successful than others, but I've given most of them a good go. However, digital art and graphic design always seemed to be where I excelled and where I've always found myself in the end.

During my time in education, throughout school and college, I studied media and photography. Pairing this with my abilities and qualifications in English, I went on to the University of Portsmouth in 2012 and studied journalism, where I learned so many different digital and creative skills - including videojournalism and editorial design - and graduated with a 2:1 and an NCTJ Diploma in Journalism.

Straight out of university, in 2015, chasing a life-long obsession with music and a keenness to work in the industry, I somehow bagged myself a job working in marketing for one of the UK's largest ticket agencies. In this job, I've worked with some of the largest music promoters, venues and event organisers in the country, marketing national tours and festivals all over the world. I've also worked on advertising campaigns for my company, seeing print ads designed by myself published in many industry magazines such as Music Week and Live UK.

Here is where Otter Rock begins...

In 2017, I got married. After spending two years planning a DIY wedding, I felt like something was missing, and really craved a new project. I spent months crafting and making every part of my wedding and I needed to channel this newfound energy into a project. I began making wedding stationery, selling cards on Etsy and designing some beautiful invitation sets for couples all over the UK. And there, Otter Rock was first born. Since then, I've created 100s of pieces of wedding stationery for happy couples all over the UK.

A couple of years later, I decided to try to turn my expertise and love of photography into another branch of Otter Rock – wedding photographer. Having previously done an array of jobs as a live music photographer, I knew I was up for the challenge, and I've loved every second of it. Photographing weddings is one of the most rewarding experiences I've ever had, and I am always itching to get out behind the camera at my next event.

Fast forward to 2020 and Otter Rock had established another avenue: Otter Rock Prints - this has managed to keep me busy (and sane!) during the lockdown period of 2020. In my furloughed time from working in marketing for the live music industry, I turned my attention to creating music-themed homewares, gifts and bespoke pieces of graphic design. I've had this idea in my head for such a long time, and I've had a blast so far. I'm excited to create more.

Oh, and last but not least. The story behind the name, Otter Rock?

Otters are just the best. That's pretty much it!
